If you've run in an Ironman or Color Run, purchased tickets for Pearl Harbor, or booked a campground via ReserveAmerica, you've probably used a platform that was part of the ACTIVE Network. ACTIVE is a major provider of event and activity management software, powering everything from consumer-facing event registrations to B2B camp and facility management tools.
The real challenge at ACTIVE was the variety. I was responsible for research across everything from high-traffic consumer registration flows to specialized back-end management tools. Each product had its own history and its own unique set of users. My task was to provide clarity across these different contexts so we could make smart decisions without relying on a "one-size-fits-all" approach for products that were fundamentally different.
As part of the global user experience research team, I ran studies to give product managers and designers the evidence they needed to prioritize their work. Rather than just looking at individual features, I focused on finding the common threads in how our users actually worked. This allowed the team to move past assumptions and build with more certainty, even across a complex and fragmented portfolio.
I enjoy connecting with people who are working to turn messy, real-world behavior into clear product direction. If you’d like to exchange perspectives on research or strategy, feel free to reach out.
